Finally, The Silver Star Awards are here, I am sorry it was a rushed process this season, I have been busy with work and schooling so couldn't do it as well as I would have hoped for. For the Season 20 SSA's I hope to be more on top of things.

Without further ado, the first award of the evening as always is The New Guard. This award is given to either an actor, director or screenwriter that is debuting in LRF or had been away from the studio for 10 seasons or more. This season we do have a good mix of all 3 in the nominees. And the Nominees are;

Wyatt Allen - Writer - An Eye for an Eye - Wyatt Allen made his writing debut in Season 19 with the Western An Eye for an Eye. The film received mixed reviews (59) with Brad Pitt earning himself a somewhat surprising Supporting Actor Nomination. Congratulations on the nomination Wyatt.

Vin Diesel - Actor - Superman: The Last Son of Krypton - Vin Diesel has been acting in film since 1997 but Season 19 was the first time he has shown up in an LRF project. The actor showed up in the Superman sequel as the bounty hunter Lobo. Diesel added some energy as Lobo and we hope to see a bit more from him in the future.

Sam Levinson - Director - Poison Ivy - Sam Levinson the director has only been around since 2011. He had directed 4 films before his debut directing Poison Ivy and what a debut it was. The film was nominated for 9 awards, surprising to some however Levinson was not nominated however his direction helped Poison Ivy gain an 83 Metacritic rating.

Sydney Sweeney - Actress - What a debut season for Sydney. Sweeney won Best Actress at the GRA's along with Best Villain, in addition to this she also was nominated for Best Starring Couple along with co-star Kyle Chandler. She debuted earlier in the season with Fear of the Dark but Poison Ivy was truly her breakout role.
