Alright I'm making a Yargos Lanthimos type of adaption of the short story "The most dangerous game" thriller/Horror/action movie and I'm worried it'll be too close to Ypsilanti. I am having trouble with the villain.
Ellis Hunter Whitney (Liam Neeson, Brad Pitt, James McAvoy, Michael Fessbender, Jake Gyllenhaal, Johnny Depp, Joel Edgerton, Robert Downey Jr., Or Ben Affleck)
Ellis is a sly, flamboyant country man who believes in welcoming hospitality but has SOME edges to him. He carries a fake gentlemanly southern/Midwestern accent and loves hunting and nature. But treats people with respect and disrespect. He also plays head games with everyone.

Jacob Stone (Tye Sheridan, Tom Holland, Lucas Hedges, or Barry Keoghan), Devin Jade (Abraham Attah, Justice Smith, Ashton Sanders, Tyrel Jackson Williams, Chosen Jacobs, or Jaden Smith), Daniel Riley (Noah Centineo, Asa Butterfield, or Kodi Smit-McPhee), Liz Parker (Auliʻi Cravalho, Anya Taylor-Joy, Olivia Cooke, Saoirse Ronan, or Bella Thorne), Maxwell Addison (Bill Skarsgard, Freddie Highmore, KJ Apa or Anthony Ramos) These are the victims with the lead at the beginning and the second being one of those that could survive. |

I'd probably go with Depp as the villain, especially if you're worried about similarities to Ypsilanti, since I feel he would probably give the performance the furthest away from that of Daniel Craig (in a good way).
Not knowing anything about the other characters, I'm just shooting in the dark casting wise, but from your shortlists, I'd go with the following cast:
Johnny Depp as Ellis Hunter Whitney
Tye Sheridan as Jacob Stone
Justice Smith as Devin Jade
Kodi Smit-McPhee as Daniel Riley
Auliʻi Cravalho as Liv Parker
Bill Skarsgard as Maxwell Addison
(I was mostly just trying to select a varied selection of acting styles and looks from the lists you provided for the characters other than the main villain)
Director wise, I think Yorgos Lanthimos would be a solid choice given the material.

Send it through as a message if you want Jacob Stone, a resourceful somewhat self aware well prepared man who doesn't like nature cause his abusive father made him hunt. Devin Jade - a jokester kinda if person who thinks of survival if it means to save his own skin. Daniel Riley: a carefree loveable person who tries to get along but can somewhat be naive Liz Parker - an opinionative person. Who is full of it. Maxwell Addison - the cool grown up who has been surviving this whole thing who easily shows his true nature |

Yeah Depp would Ben my choice too, if you weren’t going edgerton Director as well.
Depp and Lanthimos would be a match made in heaven as well

Noah Centineo as Daniel Riley (Smit-McPhee doesn't strike me as pulling off "carefree" very well)
Olivia Cooke as Liv Parker
KJ Apa as Maxwell Addison (KJ Apa just seems like he has a "cool" vibe versus the more intense vibe of Skarsgard, although I'm pretty torn between the two of them)
