I also say a couple of words about the film led by Amanda Seyfried, Taylor Kitsch, Olivia Wilde and Scoot Mcnairy. I don't think the film is particularly good and I hope the story is understood well in the Italian-English translation. However I hope that at least the atmosphere is good and that the supernatural story about Janara (which is a fairly well known Italian legend here) manages to be quite interesting.

Meanwhile, while I'm still thrilled by the Italian victory in the 4x100 meters in the Olympics, I started experimenting a bit. 



A photo of Emily Beecham as Anna Williams in her signature red dress has been released. It is unclear in which film she will wear it but still Tekken fans will be very happy with that.

The entire cast of Alien vs Predator 2: The Long War is previewed. The film commanded by Gemma Chan will be released in Round 5.





Among other things, I want to anticipate a news that could be quite interesting, Gemma Chan will be present in one of the next season's blockbusters. The British actress will play the goddess Calypso in the first chapter of the Odyssey. The project is still shrouded in fog despite having already completed filming and nothing is known about the director or the rest of the cast. Gemma Chan had been thrilled and immediately accepted her part in the film despite her role being secondary.
In addition, a young black-haired Italian actress who played the role of Azzurra with Matilda de Angelis in the beautiful film "Risico" written by John Malone will also have a small role in the film.

Following yesterday's news that Gemma Chan would play Calypso, today the British actress posted on her Instagram profile a drawing that portrays her in a moment of the film. She has made it known that this will also be her dress in the film.




She also says that in the last few hours she has been studded with messages asking her who will play Ulysses and Penelope and to be amused by this fact because the fans are so curious. She revealed that she obviously can't tell the actors involved in the project yet and asks fans to guess. 

She reveals that she had never worked with either of them before and that they are truly two exceptional actors. Finally, she lets slip that within the film there is an actor with whom she had recently worked for a highly anticipated film and that she is happy to have seen him again.

- The first news about Resident Evil 4, the first film that will be released in the next season, also begin to circulate. The first two Resident Evil were poor films and had a somewhat disappointing box office. The third installment improved the reviews and the box office a bit and the fourth film was in the works.

This film had production problems which led to it being postponed a couple of times. The film was originally supposed to be based on Resident Evil: Code Veronica. The cast talks were well underway. Jack O'Connell and Lili Reinhart would return to play their roles as Chris and Claire Redfield and Ben Foster as Albert Wheesker. Among the novelties there would have been some interesting names like Cameron Monaghan, Evan Rachel Wood and Clifton Collins Jr.

Unfortunately, shortly before filming began, there were creative differences between Carl Flimmer and new director Josh Boone which led to the latter's resignation. Eventually Carl Flimmer managed to convince James Wan to come back again for the fourth time. The film was completely rewritten with the story leaving the setting of Code Veronica and moving in a village between Spain and Portugal from Resident Evil 4.

Some of the cast members are finally revealed. Carl Flimmer reveals that Scott Eastwood (Resident Evil 2) returns to play Leon Kennedy while Rila Fukushima (Resident Evil 2, Tekken: Death By Degrees) will return as Ada Wong. Another cast member will be the portoguese actress Daniela Melchior (The Suicide Squad) as declared by Carl Flimmer a few days ago after the release of The Suicide Squad, although the character she will play has not been disclosed.



- Writer Ben Collins' slasher-horror Photographs will be released shortly. I'm not expecting good reviews but I hope it amuses the audience and gets enough response at the box office thanks to Emma Roberts. A curiosity about the cast, initially the protagonist was to be Emma Watson.

- Adam Wingard (Godzilla vs Kong, Death Note) will return to direct for LRF next season. The director will collaborate with Ben Collins again after working with him on "Damned Ship" in season 8. From what has been revealed the film will be titled "Maledicta" and should be a horror with a not very high budget since the location where the film is set will be practically only one. The cast, on the other hand, is still unknown even if some rumors begin to circulate. Some more information will likely be revealed in the coming weeks.

- After the confirmation of Gemma Chan as Calypso, there are increasingly persistent rumors about who will play Ulysses and Penelope in the blockbuster about the Odyssey that will be released next season. A rather famous Reddit user said he had the sure news that they will be played by one of the couples Hugh Jackman\Amy Adams, Jake Gillenhaal\Michelle Williams, Michael Fassbender \Jessica Chastain and Idris Elba\Kerry Washington. It is not known if these names are true, we will see in the coming weeks. 
A few days ago the name of Carey Mulligan in the role of Athena was mentioned, news immediately denied by the actress.

- I believe that this afternoon (Here in Italy) the results of the Photographs box office will arrive. As I said earlier I'm not particularly optimistic but I hope for the same. The casting of the film had been very troubled, many of the actors had turned down the various roles for various reasons. For example some of them were Patrick Wilson, Emma Watson, Bill Skarsgard, Lili Reinhart, Ana de Armas, Eiza Gonzalez, Glen Powell, Nicole Peltz, Dylan O'Brien, Alfie Allen, Evan Peters, Robert Shehaan, Lili Simmons. At first the film was entrusted to director David Slade who had turned it down due to scheduling conflicts.
I think the current cast of "Photographs" has lowered the budget compared to the initial ideas and it is the only reason that can lead the film not to be a flop at the box office.

- This season has been very positive for me with two films that have garnered unexpected successes at the box office. Now I'm curious to see how Alien Vs Predator 2: The Long War will behave, maybe it will be the most expensive film to fail at the box office even if I hope not. The film, in my opinion, will present situations never seen in any film in the saga as the previous film ended with Machiko (Gemma Chan) joining the Predators. Obviously I'm not expecting a good Metascore and I hope to get to 50.

As for the future, in addition to my usual horror films there will be various historical films, a genre that I really like. Sure, Cleopatra had been a box office bomb in the past but I hope the future is better. As I have already revealed in the next seasons will arrive the film about the Odyssey, The Betrothed based on the novel by A. Manzoni, the film about the Romanov family and Queen Margot based on the life Margaret of Valois. In addition, a film about Henry VIII seems to be in the process of being written. I also have some "dreams" like Dr. Zhivago, War & Peace (I am very angry that the tv mini-series starring Lily James has never been released on DVD here in Italy!) , Anna Karenina and a movie (or more movies) about the Robert Baratheon rebellion from Game of Thrones. 


- Samantha Win (Justice League, Army of the Dead) will be in the cast of Resident Evil 4 and will star in the opening sequence of the film. James Wan reveals that he was impressed with her role in Zack Snyder's film and immediately called her to be part of the film.

- There are some news on Maledicta, the horror directed by Adam Wingard that will be released in the next season. Following an interview, the director talked about the film and the cast giving some information. Adam reveals that the film's lead will be three-time Golden Reel Award nominee Madison Iseman (A Following, Suzanne). The blonde girl with the angelic face will play a babysitter who will have to look after the daughter of a sweet couple of parents played by Elizabeth Banks (Pressing Luck, Charlie's Angels) and Tymothy Olyphant (The Hulk, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic movies) . According to Adam there are other cast members who have not yet been revealed. Adam assures that the entire cast had a great time shooting this movie.

- The most important and interesting news comes from the blockbuster Odysseus, which will see the release of the first part next season. In a press conference, the name of the director is finally revealed, the great Ridley Scott (Pirate Latitudes, Alien: Covenant).
Another novelty is that the fantastic writer Chad Taylor is the producer of the film. There is also a rumor about a presentation teaser that could be released in the next few hours (If anyone wants).
Meanwhile, the beautiful Italian actress Alice Pagani (Baby, Non mi uccidere) has revealed in her Instagram account that she will be featured in the film. The young actress of particular beauty reveals to her that she is delighted to have made her debut in Hollywood after she had auditioned in the great film Risico.

The Venice Film Festival is taking place these days. I don't live very far from Venice, just over an hour. Next year I would like to go and browse and if I can even get some tickets to see some movies (I know there is a mix for screenings for accredited people and normal audiences).

Yesterday my friend took a picture with Jessica Chastain, I'm very jealous!

- The young and talented Australian actress Angourie Rice (Blind Faith, Death Dream) posted a picture of her with a T-Rex model. Could the photo be a clue about her major involvement in the  film set in the Jurassic Park universe in season 23?
If it were to be confirmed, for the actress it would be a return in a movie with the dinosaurs since in 2014 she had participated in the animated film Walking with Dinosaurs.

Angourie Rice began her career in 2013 with the good film "These Final Hours" by Zak Hilditch (Until Dawn, 1922, Rattlesnake) but she made herself known mainly with "The Nice Guys" by Shane Black and especially with the recurrent role of Betty Brant in the Spider Man movies of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. 
The actress has so far collected two nominations for best cast at the Golden Reel Awards, we will see if in the future she will be able to get other more important nominations. Writer Ben Collins is rumored to have been very impressed with her talents in the "Mare of Easttown" series and that he wants to cast her on other projects. Could she be one of the Romanoff family's daughters in the film dedicated to them?
This is not known yet but we await further news.



- The Director Craig Gillespie (Cruella, I,Tonya, ) shared a photo with the cover of The Last of the Mohicans book. Is there a new film based on that novel in the works? There are no official confirmations yet but there are fairly reliable rumors that both the film is practically safe and that even Emma Watson is in the project. I honestly do not know if this is the truth or not, we will see in the future if there will be more news.


The director's last film in LRF was the horror "Fear of the Dark" starring Chloe Moretz and Anya Taylor Joy in Season 18. The film had received fairly negative reviews but defended itself well at the box office.



- Italian actress Alice Pagani participated as a guest on the Venice Film Festival 78 Red Carpet and spoke briefly about her role in the first chapter concerning the Odyssey next season. The 23-year-old actress reveals that she will play Melanto, a maid of Penelope played by Jessica Chastain who for unrevealed reasons decides to betray her.

Following the end of filming of the next Tekken Universe movie called Tekken: New Generation which will be released next season on LRF NOW, the entire cast is unveiled. According to the words of the director Anne Foerster (Underworld: Blood Wars) it will be in some ways a little different from the previous ones set in this universe and that will probably change the target audience a little too. The director says that there are some easter eggs in the film including a character never released in the games, but who was discarded to the great disappointment of the fans. This character will be played by Korean actress Kim-Yong Ji.

Finally this film is reality. Writer Carl Flimmer (Resident Evil Series, Alien VS Predator Series) said the script is complete. There is still nothing about the cast and the story, we will see if there will be future news.
