The first idea about the surviving dinosaur sounds intriguing. The space princess and the talking deer idea honestly just seems too weird to actually work at the end of the day.
Perhaps but you can't fully say an idea can't work nowadays I actually can say that I think an idea may not work on the big screen, Wesley. It's called an opinion - and that's the entire purpose of this particular thread. I gave my honest opinion. You're not even giving an opinion, just trying to discount mine.

Ik I was just saying. I mean who would have thought a movie about a farting corpse would be one of the best movies that year?

Except that Swiss Army Man isn't ABOUT a farting corpse. It's about a man finding an unlikely hope for survival in a perilous situation (and just happens to include a farting corpse).

Quite the coincidence that our 400th film is also the first film in 2020!

What you guys think of an R rated Mario live action. Why does it need to be R rated?

I just think that a standard Mario Brothers movie would be just redundant and it fall into the standard video game movie but yah I want to make an edgy movie and my friend made a funny mockymentary about the real Mario and it’s like R rated and fun. youtu.be/tapOaJ5mfTQ

I do think that the Mario property is rich for a proper adaptation here at LRF. Whether or not that is an R-Rated satirical take is not for me to say, although the first thing that comes to mind for me is something in the vein of Lord & Miller's animation stuff (Cloudy/Lego/Spidey). In a past life I adapted it as an Apatow-produced shrooms trip (Rogen as Mario, Franco as Luigi) but I think the window has shut on that one!

The primary audience of the various Super Mario Bros. properties is children, so it would seem incredibly counter-productive to adapt the property in a way that would prohibit them from being able to see it. Put simply, an R-Rated Mario Bros. movie seems like a sure fire box office bomb. It would be a movie without much of an audience. I would also have to agree with Chad that animation would be the most logical, and probably the most successful way, to adapt Mario.

And the reason I mentioned those films (but a lot of animation today in general) is that they have a certain level of humor that can appeal to the nostalgia of the parents who grew up with the characters, while also holding a mass appeal to the children on a base level. As I said before, I feel like this could be a huge property for the studio if done right.

So idk if any1 has heard of the Houston Astros Cheating Scandal, but does anyone think a "The Big Short" style movie would work for this?

So idk if any1 has heard of the Houston Astros Cheating Scandal, but does anyone think a "The Big Short" style movie would work for this? As someone who follows baseball very closely, I don't see that working as a film at all. There is no protagonist in a story about that, and no real narrative structure. It was a team of investigators working for the commissioner's office interviewing people and looking at video footage from various games - not exactly something that would be especially interesting to watch on screen, in my opinion. Perhaps there's some interesting angle somewhere, but none that come to mind to me.

Hey btw I’m working on this project it’s a true story project with a lot of fiction. It’s about a young reporter who’s best friend gets sucked into basically worshipping Mike Cernovich and this reporter tries to write a hit piece but he gets sucked in as well. It starts in late 2016 and I envision it will probably go into mid 2018 as far as timeline goes and if anyone doesn’t know who Mike Cernovich is. He’s a big Trump supporter who got James Gunn fired and he defamed Chuck Schumer and he also invented Pizzagate but what makes him fascinating is his charisma which shields his sexism and racism and homophobia
