My lengthy ode to Booster Gold now up on the blog: chadtaylorlrf.wordpress.com/bye-for-now-booster-gold/And as a little bonus, here is a primer for where the soundtrack fits into the film: Welcome Back - John Sebastian - The opening credits of the film Rhinestone Cowboy - Glen Campbell - Used in the Old West Metropolis scenes at the beginning and end of the film Shining Star - The Manhattans - When Supernova first makes her entrance, in slow motion Garden Party - Ricky Nelson - Montage song as Booster travels across the 12th century American continent Where the Boys Are - Connie Francis - When Booster ascends to "heaven" 天天夜夜 - F.I.R. ft. LeAnn Rimes - Plays as Michael and April take a stroll down memory lane in the convenience store Nobody Does It Better - Carly Simon - First credits song. Plays over a tribute video to Booster Gold that Michael made for himself Take On Me - Reel Big Fish - Second credits song because it can't be a BG soundtrack without some ska! Hope you guys enjoyed the film! I know it's long but hopefully everything is earned. It's not perfect but, for sentimental reasons, it is probably my favorite thing that I've written at LRF.

So the blog has been a little dormant as of late and Jack's post about Lancelot got me thinking: what are some hidden gems in the vast LRF library that have been forgotten over time?
So here's a little project, feel free to participate if you'd like: I want to make a post about Hidden Gems that features blurbs from our various writers stumping for a little-remembered film that they particularly enjoyed. There's no real determinant in regards to critical or box office success, although I'd imagine that films that won a lot of GRAs and top the record books for b/o are not "hidden gems". I'd say it should also be at least a couple of seasons old at this point, at least.
Just send me a PM with your selection and why you chose it and if I get more than a few, I'll make an "LRF Vault" post that compiles them. If this works out, I can do more Vault posts on different topics in the future. As a throwback to the old Chad Taylor awards, perhaps a "cult classic" edition where we only select movies with a sub-50 metascore? I'm open to ideas.
Edit: You can choose multiple films, if you'd like. One person chose to do one film from Seasons 1-5, 6-10, 11-15 each.

After spending most of my time creating the fake posters for this header image, here is round 1 of my new Inside the LRF Vault series as we look at Hidden Gems from LRF's Classical Period of Seasons 1-6 (I just made that up): chadtaylorlrf.wordpress.com/2020/04/05/inside-the-lrf-vault-hidden-gems-part-1/Given the response to the Hidden Gems, this will likely be a continuing series (I've already got some other ideas in mind). Next week will cover the second half of Hidden Gem submissions. Thank you to those who participated! And here are those posters on their own:

Keep an eye out on the blog tomorrow for Part 2 of the Hidden Gems post. In the meantime, it's been a while since I've made one of these but teaser trailers are close to my heart so I whipped this up. Enjoy!: youtu.be/WEfAxaWmfCY
