Man after all the work Willem and I out in, Life After Life wasn't favored by very many critics.

Personally, I think the bigger issue is with the source material itself, rather than the adaptation. The format of the story is really hard to pull off in film form (especially going all the way back to Ursula's birth with the timelines). I imagine the format is a lot easier and works a lot better in novel form. In film, really only short time looping films like Edge of Tomorrow or Groundhog Day.
I'll go into more detail in The Roundup, but I do feel that the film was usually not going towards the main (or even secondary) goals of the main character - and that's something that is crucial in films, but not always as important in a long novel. If I were adapting it, I probably would have done away with any of the timelines that don't teach the main character something to help her in achieving her goals (which sometimes seemed to be to kill Hitler, but sometimes she didn't seem to have any goals at all) - and probably would have focused on her mission to kill Hitler in each timeline.

Yeah the novel was a gamble but it was worth seeing how it could have worked. I guess you were just focusing on doing it in the way of the novel cause it worked in the novel

I think we're too ambitious. We really lost track of what really people wanted to see out of this.

Is the awards season going to last a week like last season or not? Just curious.

I just hope I get the noms I want. I hope everyone gets their time to shine too. This seems like an open year. Even tho Batman might dominate most of it

Probably about a week, but there might be an extra side post this award season (depends on what Jeff Stockton ends up doing).

Just noticed that in the Best Ensemble cast ballot, Doppelganger 2 and God of War are just one big block.

Just wanted to say that I really enjoyed Reuben Schwartz debut for Last Resort Films. He injects life in the GRA season and overall a great addition to the community. I hope his interventions become seasonal or more frequent (who knows?).
Also I just wanted to point out something he missed and I feel absolutely deserves to be mentioned. Chad Taylor eclipsed Mo Buck for the most nominations in a single ceremony in LRF history with 19! That's impressive. There are a lot of stats in the database in the Golden Reel section for those of you who want to know more!

Best Original Story - On the back of two co-written projects, the Best Original Story category finds itself stacked with previous winners. James Morgan won in Season 3 for Into Thin Air and Ann Morrow the next season for The Price of Fame. Season 5 saw three in a row for the MBWA with Mo Buck’s win for Cape Torment. And now Chad Taylor, who is already the only writer to have won the award twice, has a chance to make it three after Scion and Cascade. But they all will be jaw dropped when the charismatic writer Jack Ryder wins this season award.

Wow! I gotta say...that is one of the more unpredictable (and evenly distributed?) GRAs we've had in a long while.
Congrats to all winners and nominees!
