Okay I just wanna get this out of the way. I wasn't dissing Meirad Tako's Evangelion. I was just trying to say that it's an extremely huge property to adapt and if it's not done right, there will be consequences. I mean it's THE too anime of all time. And it's themes, morals, and lessons mean something to people. It's not like adapting Ghost in the Shell and making it into a summer blockbuster version of Blade Runner or taking Fullmetal Alchemist and making it a fantasy epic. With both of those easy to do, Evangelion MEANS something to a whole lot of people and changing will just not make it better.
Thats all I have to say other than than I don't like the 4,000 word limit. Yeah I think there should be one which should at Max be 6,000 which seems fair cause I'm a detailed writer and I like to add stuff that helps a scene that might be too much to some but it helps the story. I didn't think anyone would like Dark Places because of the length it turned out people did. I think if the story is interesting enough who cares how long it is. Yeah no one should turn in a pitch thats 13,000 words and shame to whoever did that.

The word limit is somewhat flexible (depending on how close you are able to come to the number), but I have heard some complaints about length (even of pitches less than 4,000). I feel pretty confident that any pitch over 4,000 words could be trimmed down to that number without losing any of the essence of the story. Keep in mind that 500 words is about one typed page, so a 6,000 word film ends up being 12 pages long. Another thing to take into account is that the critics for the site don't have a limitless amount of time to read and review the films. While their reviews are brief, they are still taking the full film into account.

I just want to tell Meirad to keep your head up after the two flops this season. The box office can be an unpredictable beast at times.

Evangelion MEANS something to a whole lot of people and changing will just not make it better. In that sense every material means something to someone else and I don't want to sound rude but few days back one of the ideas behind "The Girl with Dragon Tattoo" remake was that changes are being made to the material hence it will be better. I think this platform is open for anybody to do anything they like. They are open to create a self created masterpiece or rehash anything. I just want to tell Meirad to keep your head up after the two flops this season. The box office can be an unpredictable beast at times. I always love the original ideas Meirad has.

I just want to tell Meirad to keep your head up after the two flops this season. The box office can be an unpredictable beast at times. Honestly, I thought he had something with the film. It just needed to be fleshed out more and keep the existing morals and emotions of the original. I was impressed how he almost got it but it didn't turn out that way

I'm just asking cause there are some stories I can shorten but there are some I might have to see how you feel about them but none of them are too long.

Feel free to submit pitches, even if they're slightly too long. Worst case scenario, the studio can work with you to see if there are any other little things that could be trimmed (or re-worded in a shorter fashion).

My congratulations to Chad Taylor on the success of One For The Ages. A lot of work went into this film and it showed in the final production!

Sorry to disappoint you John (and others, potentially), but Mo's hiatus is more a matter of weeks, even months and not just for a couple of days.
** Edit: I keep calling you John, mistaking you with the basketball legend… also my name is the same as a basketball legend, so there's that. Sorry Jeff.
