While not all required critic reviews have submitted on time so far, Season 30 should still be able to start on-time (June 9th).
Critics, please do not sign up to be a critic for a season if you are not going to be available to do the reviews you signed up for. If you have been sent films for Season 30 to review and you haven't completed them yet, please do so as soon as you can. If more Season 30 reviews are not submitted on time, an extended mid-season break may be required.

First off, I want to thank Dolan for the wonderful poster for Acapella, it really captures the spirit of this film. Acapella has been something of a passion project for a while now, the first animated film to have stories told with acapella music. I have a deep admiration for this genre, having been in high school choir and being exposed to the Kings Singers around this time, and it makes me happy knowing I was able to share it with all of you.
I hope everyone is enjoying the film and hope for the best when its time for the box office and reviews.

Acapella has been something of a passion project for a while now, the first animated film to have stories told with acapella music. Glad Slowly Dying got some decent reviews and did well at the box office. I have to commend you for how you handled the political nature of the film. Maneuvering through politics in any film is difficult and I think you did a good job with it. Thanks man that was always a balance. Earlier drafts were more political but I didn’t intend to just give a statement with this film. Billie Joe Armstrong has this great quote I remember hearing about writing a political song is the same as writing a love song. I wrote it not to preach but to express my disillusionment and my anxiety during those early days in The War In Gaza. |
