Bringing it back!

Next season I will be making my long awaited return to LRF. The first of many of my upcoming films will be Orange Blossom: Childhood friends(J.G.Levitt and M. Qualley) reconnect years later in life. Josh is lost in life after his parents pass away, leaving him yearning for a family he can call his own. Tiffany has a kid(Ness, R.N. Whittet) with her boyfriend, Chad(N. Hoult) and are in a toxic relationship. When Josh and Tiffany meet up again, she is torn between wanting a new life with Josh and keeping the family she has now together. Things get a bit more complicated when Ness forms a deep bond with Josh. 

I wrote this one with such a long hiatus between it and my last film, Watch Dogs, that I feel I may have been a little rusty, but definitely a better step in the right direction as opposed to my first handful of films. Plots are more coherent lol. 


Trailer Concept for Orange Blossom

MPAA WARNING
Opening Scene: A Memory on Clearwater Beach
The trailer begins with a serene shot of a beautiful beach. Ocean waves gently breach the shore as Tiffany’s voice is heard:
Tiffany (Voiceover): "If you had a chance to do it all over again..."

We cut to young Tiffany and Josh, sitting side by side, rebuilding her destroyed sandcastle together. As their hands touch over the sand, they pause and smile shyly at one another.
Tiffany (Voiceover): "...would you take it?"

As the camera lingers on their innocent connection, "Good Intentions" by Mad Caddies kicks in, and the trailer launches into high gear.

"A bond formed in childhood..."

Present Day: A Chance Reunion
Josh is shown moving back to town after his mother's passing, while Tiffany struggles as a single mom to her spirited daughter, Ness.
At a grocery store, Tiffany’s car refuses to start. She flags down Josh, and their shared recognition brings a spark to the moment. "Josh?" Tiffany asks, disbelief and nostalgia in her tone. The reunion is heartfelt but quickly interrupted by Ness in the car, calling her mom impatiently.

Moments of Connection and Conflict
Scenes flash by quickly, matching the upbeat tempo of the music:

Josh at dinner with Tiffany and Ness, playfully teaching Ness how to spit a straw wrapper, and Ness shooting it at her mom, who laughs despite herself.
Chad, drunk and high, flirting with another woman.
Andrea speaking to Tiffany on the beach: "You’re going out with one..." (cut to Josh, Tiffany, and Ness screaming on a rollercoaster), "...and going home to the other." (cut to Chad and Tiffany sitting stiffly on a couch, Ness cuddled beside her mom).
A close-up of Tiffany gently telling Josh, "I hate you," followed by Josh smirking, "I hate you too," as they suddenly kiss passionately.

Emotional Struggles
The trailer slows as emotional beats take center stage:

Andrea’s voiceover: "All you’re doing is making it harder on her."
A shot of Tiffany comforting a tearful Ness, who says, “Don’t.”
Josh holding Ness after a breakdown: "I just want things to go back to how they were," Ness sobs. "I know," Josh says softly as he hugs her.

Moments of Chaos and Change
The pace quickens again as key moments flash by:

Josh hugging a nervous Ness during her first swim lesson.
Chad yelling at Tiffany: "I didn’t even want that one!" (referring to Ness).

Ness crying at the hospital, Josh stroking her hair and saying with a small smile, "If you wanted to see me, you didn’t have to try to kill yourself."

As "Good Intentions" reaches its energetic crescendo, a series of cast shots are interwoven with key dramatic moments:

GRA Winner: Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Josh passionately arguing with Tiffany: "I feel like I’m living an illusion you’re not willing to break.").
GRA Winner: Nicholas Hoult (Chad casually rolling a joint and saying to Ness, “This helps me deal with your mother.”).
Rylea Nevaeh Whittet (Ness in the backseat of the car, staring at the clouds and smiling, lost in her innocent imagination).
Final Montage: Love and Family
The trailer crescendos with warm and joyful moments interspersed with tension:

Josh, Tiffany, and Ness carving pumpkins, Ness accidentally calling Josh “Dad.”
Ness asleep in Josh’s lap at Tiffany’s graduation, whispering “Dad” again as Josh smiles.
Tiffany’s passionate monologue: “I hate how much I need you. I hate how good you are to Ness.”

Proud to have thrown out my latest pitch. I've always kinda wanted to do something that involves Martial Arts, since I enjoy martial arts as well as practiced karate. Didn't wanna step on Karate Kid's toes too much since that is the quintessential Karate movie, and MMA/Boxing/Karate has been done a lot that I wanted to delve into the art of Capoeira. Felt it was the right kind of story for a predominantly black cast(something I was wanting to do as well) so I churned out a film that I am quite pleased with.

The newest update for the schedules has Brothers Kendrick coming in near the end of season 32, and I'm pleased to not only have one but two from the season to showcase.


Most of you are well aware of the idea I've had about a film inspired by The Gallagher Brothers of Oasis. Brothers of a band who can make magic on the stage, but a sibling rivalry that keeps them at war with each other off the stage. As one brother wants to take the band to great heights, the other prefers to remain grounded in the UK music scene, feeling like the bigger a band can get, the less authentic their music sounds. Starring Tom Holland and Tom Glynn-Carney comes the story of a band that could be legendary if they didn't get in their own way..

Film Trailer Concept: "The Brothers Kendrick"

MPAA WARNING

Opening Shot: The camera pans over a dimly lit concert hall, the roar of a crowd echoing through the air. The stage lights up, revealing The Echoes of Albion in full swing. Oasis' "Don't Look Back in Anger" plays softly at first, underscoring the energy and thrill of the performance.

Narrator's voice, deep and resonant: "They were brothers bound by music... but torn by ambition."

Quick cuts:

Aidan Kendrick, the charismatic and intense lead singer, passionately belting out lyrics.

Jack Kendrick, the stoic guitarist, his eyes flicking to Aidan with a mix of pride and tension.

The crowd erupts as the band finishes, cheers ringing out.

The music swells, transitioning into the quieter verses of "Don't Look Back in Anger" as the trailer shifts tone.

Dialogue snippet: Jack (smiling bitterly): “We sounded good tonight.” Aidan scoffs: “If ‘good’ means out of tune.”

Quick flash: The brothers arguing backstage, fists clenched but held back by their bassist, Ben, who mutters, “Save it for the stage.”

Montage of high-energy scenes:

Glances between Jack and Ashton, a budding romance amidst studio recordings.

Jesse, the no-nonsense manager, pleading over the phone, “It’s not always like that. Just give us another chance.”

Shift in the music—drums intensify as scenes build to a climax:

Aidan’s eyes blazing as he storms offstage mid-concert.

Jesse, sweat beading on his brow, surrounded by journalists shouting questions.

Ashton looking over her shoulder at Jack, their unspoken connection strained under the pressure.

Narrator: "When the spotlight blinds, can brotherhood survive?"

Final cuts:

Aidan drunkenly smashing Jack’s guitar mid-concert.

The band’s breakup hinted at by the silencing crowd and Jack on his knees, eyes locked on the splintered remains of his guitar.

A flash-forward to an older Jack burying those fragments, a bittersweet smile exchanged with Ashton.

Closing shot: Aidan, standing alone at the Grammy podium, triumphant but isolated. His voice echoes, “This one’s for everyone who believed I couldn’t.”

Final frame: The screen fades to black as the last powerful line of “Don’t Look Back in Anger” plays: “So I start a revolution from my bed.” The title appears in bold white letters: “The Brothers Kendrick”.
