Looking at the possible choices, I must say this one of the stronger field of candidates for Best Actress in some time. It's nice to see. Best Supporting Actor is even more stacked than usual (and it already tends to be a strong category). I had the thought when voting for Supporting Actor that you could split that list in half alphabetically and find five (or more!) worthy candidates on both halves. Crazy. Agreed that it’s great to see Actress stacked as well.
It also seems like there could be a lot of overlap and multiple nominations. I could see Orlando Bloom being nominated for both Kansas City and Urban Cowboy (in either Best Supporting Actor or Best Villain or both), Elle Fanning and Lucas Hedges doubling up Best Starring Couple (between Klondike, Spider-Man and Kansas City), both of Klondike's supporting actors could easily be nominated (Mendelsohn and Stevens), etc. Should make for an interesting awards season.

Just wanted to go through my initial reactions on the nominees
Best Starring Couple: All Couples were deserving, Others that I thought had a shot were, Alex Hibbert and Ben Foster (Hillside), Casey Affleck and Cate Blanchett (For Those Who Don't Read Me) & Orlando Bloom and Lucas Hedges (Kansas City)
Best Villain: I mean I feel like this is Sydney Sweeney's award, but other than her I like the John Cho choice. The other two however, I thought there were better villains out there. Nothing against there performance, just personal preferences. I would have definitely swapped Emile Hirsch out for either Ben Mendelsohn (Klondike)/Lucas Hedges (Kansas City) or Orlando Bloom (Urban Cowboy). Even probably Jodie Comer (Floyd Monroe)
Best Adaptation: All are deserving perhaps Urban Cowboy was a little hard done by, but I can't see which film you would take out.
Best Original: I don't know what to say, I suppose all are deserving. Shouts From The Well was the most surprising, but I can't see a clear film that could of taken that spot anyway. Maybe something like Floyd Monroe, Hillside or Prodigy. But all in all I think it's a good 4 nominees for the category.
Best Supporting Actress: I have to say I wasn't expecting Joan Chen in there. The other three I did expect but I was quietly rooting for Tamlyn Tomita (Tokyo Rose) in that 4th slot. In saying that however all 4 of these women were deserving of their nominations.
Best Supporting Actor: What a stacked category. And what a shock. Brad Pitt??? I for one was not as impressed with his performance even to that of Hugo Weaving. However neither of those would have made my top 4. So many other great supporting performances came in this category. The trio from Cecil, I believe should have been ahead, Ethan Hawke in Floyd Monroe should've been ahead, Ben Foster from Hillside was possibly ahead and even Orlando Bloom should have been double nominated for his role in Urban Cowboy before Brad Pitt. I don't know if it was name value or something else, but personally he was nowhere near the top of my list.
Best Actress: From one stacked category to another. Wow. I think this is one of the most impressive Best Actress fields in LRF history. In my opinion these 4 women were the ones that deserved the spot, however I was holding out hope for Sonoya Mizuno, who prior to Sydney Sweeney's performance in Poison Ivy gave my favourite female performance of the season (bar Elle in Klondike, haha). I was also slightly expecting Cate Blanchett to slip in there.
Best Actor: Once again these 4 were the expected ones to gain a nomination. And what a list this is. These 4 have all been nominated in the past. In fact the only one yet to win an award is Lucas Hedges, and I don't believe that happens here either. Pine or Chandler has my money. Finding other performances was hard and I think bar these 4 men it could be the weakest Best Actor race in a while. Perhaps the only other two could have been Alex Hibbert in Hillside and Casey Affleck.
Best Director: I thought Sam Levinson would slip in but it seems people loved Chazelle's direction of the newest Spider Man film. All 4 directors are deserving.
Best Picture: The expected four. No surprises at all here.
The Silver Star Awards are still going ahead I have just been really busy at the moment. I am sorry for the delay

I definitely agree with Stockton that the Best Actor category feels incredibly even across the board, even if it doesn't reach as high of highs as the category has in the past. That was definitely the hardest category to predict and I look forward to seeing who gets it.

Another fun ride of a ceremony with multiple twists and turns, aided by the commentary. I’m going to guess no one went 100% on their predictions after that (although I could be wrong!).
