It's hard to say from the black and white pictures and without knowing a little about them. Nationality, age, etc. Without that information, and just based on the faces alone, I would probably say 1. Jeremy Renner and 2. Jason Clarke.

Jeremy Renner and 2. Jason Clarke. Both are from New Zealand, which complicates things a little. The first one is 33, the other is 35-36 and they both are soldiers in WW2. #2 is a much bigger role than #1. The thing is the movie I'm writing is divided in two parts, the first one about #1 and the second about #2. The second part is longer than part 1, so this is why #2 is a bigger part than #1, so it needs to be a bigger star. Hope this is helpful, I'm pretty desperate to cast these two pivotal roles in a movie I'm writing.

I would suggest checking out Taika Waitati films for New Zealand actor. Telling this from memory but the third Hemsworth brother I think Luke has a rugged look.

#2 is the star of the film, so I don't really care if he's from New Zealand, I'm looking for an A-lister, but thanks for the suggestions.

Or you can look at Skargard brothers if you don't have a problem with them being not the real ethnicity or of nationality.

Maybe Joel Edgerton as #2? Some similar features, plus he's Australian so he shouldn't have trouble with any accent. Jason Clarke is also an Aussie, so he could play the other guy (#1). You picked yourself a tricky casting situation - especially since the two men in those pictures look pretty similar.

It's actually the same guy, but he changed quite a bit during those years, so that's why I want to cast two different actors. You'll see in the movie

Ha! I honestly couldn't tell the difference between the two. There aren't really a lot of A-Listers in their 30s, or who even look like they are in their 30s. Leonardo DiCaprio, Christian Bale, Ryan Gosling, Jake Gyllenhaal are really the only actors I'd consider A-List in that age range. Then you have the next tier: Bradley Cooper, Chris Pratt, Ryan Reynolds, James Franco, Michael Fassbender, etc. Then you have guys like Chris Pine, Tom Hardy, Chris Hemsworth, Benedict Cumberbatch, etc. So on and so forth. Interested to see who you end up shooting for...

Thanks for your help guys. I'm hesitating between Martin Campbell (Casino Royale, GoldenEye) and Andrew Dominik (White Jazz, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford) for directing by war movie. I also need help casting this guy now, also from New Zealand, in his late 40's, early 50's during the war, here he is at 55, seven years after the war ended. It's a relatively small role (minor support), he doesn't need much star power.

Hi guys,
I'm looking for an actor in his fifties that kind of looks like Robert de Niro. Here's the situation. I'm looking for an actor who's in his fifties who's the same character as Robert De Niro, but younger. Hope that helps.
My shortlist so far (in no particular order) : Sean Penn, Benicio del Toro, Viggo Mortensen, Richard Jenkins and Clive Owen
