Out of the three Lisbeth we've seen on the big screen, I think Claire Foy was the worst one. Noomi Rapace is and will stay Lisbeth for me, even though Rooney Mara fits the part more, physically speaking (petite, really skinny, bony even, a small, fragile frame but a brutal physicality and a hot temper) . Foy doesn't fit the part at all. It could also be because the film with Claire Foy is made to be more of an action film, far from Larsson's crime novel.
Playing Lisbeth requires a lot of range that I don't think Dakota Johnson possesses yet. It's a hard role to cast, really.

Here are some ladies I think would at least be better than Foy (in order of how well I think they fit the role): Anya Taylor-Joy, Mackenzie Davis, Mia Wasikowsa, Imogen Poots, Kristen Stewart, Maika Monroe, Elizabeth Debicki, Tatiana Maslany, Dakota Johnson, Eve Hewson, Garance Marillier, Riley Keough

To be pretty honest with you, I think a third adaptation of a material that was already successfully adapted twice before feels a bit unnecessary, but I don't want to put limits to your artistic and creative process.
I think John was right on the spot regarding Claire Foy, I couldn't have said it better. If I had to cast the role myself, I clearly wouldn't know who to pick, an actress that pops up in my mind is Tatiana Maslany. Anyone who watched Orphan Black (such an underrated show IMO) knows she has the range to pull it off, but she doesn't look the part at all, so that's a bummer.
If it were me, I would think that I hit a wall and that I would just scrap the project, similar to Quentin Tarantino and Hans Landa. He said that if he thought the role was uncastable until Christoph Waltz, a completely unknown actor, came along and often said that Waltz saved the film. So for me this is this type of situation, no good Lisbeth, no movie, it's make or break, but that would just be me in my creative process. You do you and I truly hope that you'll be able to resolve this issue.

I'd like to echo John's top 2 choices there. Would be a real star-making opportunity for Taylor-Joy and Davis is consistently good at bringing the moodiness. Kristen Stewart is someone who's been quietly on the upswing as of late and this would be her chance to reemerge in the spotlight. (FWIW I really enjoyed Rooney's performance but I enjoy her in just about everything)

Out of the list this is who we are looking at.
1. Maslany/Stewart 2. Garance Mariller 3. Eve Hewson 4. Elizabeth Debicki 5. Mackenzie Davis 6. Maika Monroe 7. Dakota Johnson 8. Riley Keough
H.G. really likes Maslany and Stewart. Stewart the most since he thinks she go well with Joel Edgerton

Joel Edgerton and Kristen Stewart are the leads! Along with James DeMonaco as director! Also we are developing the characters further as we soon will find a brand new way to promote the story

So ik I always stack my workload when I'm writing something. But this has been popping back into my mind as I keep reimagining the story as a whole. Then came to my mind I could do a TV show like eight episodes max.
So which would be better a movie or TV show? I wanna know what ya think.

I'd say it could probably be done as a TV show and considering the previous adaptations are still pretty recent, it would at least shake things up format-wise.

I wouldn't mind having it on television. If you pitch a pilot, I'd gladly accept it. A movie is fine too if you decide to go that way.

I'm writing alot of TV shows lately and I want to make a movie but after seeing films that aren't big budget or superhero genre fail at the box office this season, I'm scared to do so. I want to make all the books into movies. I've been hard to recreate the storyline while respecting the original.
