I’m not sure how many will agree with me, but I found this seasons award contenders very limited, in majority of categories
It's definitely not the strongest of seasons (at least in terms of critical reception), with it being very top-heavy with Caesar Part III, but it should make for an interesting awards season with less traditional awards-type films sneaking in some nominations that they probably wouldn't get in other seasons.

Huh. My first award in sixteen attempts.
Gotta admit, it's pretty cool knowing Victoria Pendretti did that good in the role.
Might have more thoughts on it later down the line, but for now, I'm just gonna bask in this moment.

I just sent out the annual (seasonal?) Golden Reel Awards message to everyone (if you didn't get one and you have a film out this season, let me know). Please answer with who you want for consideration in each of the award categories. Based on my schedule, I need everyone's answers within two weeks, so please have those back to me by/before the 21st of August (if not, the studio will make the selections for you). Thanks!

I think Time Out is a lock for a Best Picture nomination.

If this season's Metascores are any indication, it looks to me like the Best Picture GRA race will involve some combination of Time Out, Territory, Batman: Knightfall, Pompeii and Namor the Sub-Mariner: Imperius Rex (unless one of the Round 10 films joins in). With two superhero films in the Top 5 Metascores, it should result in a pretty interesting voting period for the GRA's this season. Even though (or maybe because) I have no film in the hunt this season, I am starting to get excited to see how it all plays out.
