I had this weird idea the other day. I’ve been binging Curb Your Enthusiasm and I came up with this idea. It’s Larry David as this like grumpy old socialist in the late 1960s similar to kind of like Howard Zinn or Herbert Mercuse and he’s so anti war and so radical that Berkeley wants to kick him out because Reagan doesn’t like it similar to what happened to Herbert Mercuse. even though he’s old he wears tie dye t shirts, smokes weed and the students love him. He also like long but balding hair kinda similar to Jesse Ventura.

Hey so I just got done watching Who Killed WCW? On VICE. I was wondering if someone were to make a movie that was 2.5k to 3k words about the rise and fall of WCW with BTS scenes, what, to you, think should and/or has to be in the movie?
I already think Bash At The Beach & Starrcade should be in it. Idk if Ted Turner should be a character in it or not.
TBH, Hulk is gonna look like a jerk in this thing. Him and the core group of NWO.

I’m reading Ryan Grim who’s a great journalists book The Squad. Just in the first few chapters it focuses on AOC’s race defeating Joe Crowley. There’s a lot of drama from for a bit Justice Democrats pulling out of AOC’s race. Kind of a David Vs Goliath story as she was just a bartender plus it has some personal significance for me as I strongly remember AOC winning when I was in high school and was invested in the race as many other young Bernie bros were.

I’ve been thinking about this idea for a movie I had for a few weeks. Generally if the idea sticks with me for a month or longer I pursue it fully. The idea is it’s similar to films I’ve written in the teen movie genre but it has two characters constantly roasting the main character Tom.
So the idea is Tom is a theater kid from suburban New York who’s obsessed with a girl named Kristina who was his scene partner. But the film is more about the cousin Jules and her girlfriend Harper. Tom often crashes at their place especially when overwhelmed or just wanting weed.
Harper and Jules are l these radical feminists. Jules is in a punk band both have dyed hair. They roast Tom in a loving manner to try to get him to get over Kristina who kissed another guy in front of him. The film is kind of about the relationship between Tom and Jules and Harper as much as it’s about Tom trying to win over Kristina. I weirdly envision Jules being played by Phoebe Bridgers. Dominic Sessa as Tom.

A dream came true today. I got greenlit under some stipulations to make a Watchmen film adaptation. Not a sequel a film version of the graphic novel. I feel like my film will probs be more satirical then Snyder’s one will be. But yah I was thinking about Watchmen a lot recently as there’s constant threats of World war 3, people feel disaffected and are protesting and are questioning their government and people feel like the saying who watches the watchmen especially in regards to like government spying . Who watches the watchmen feels like a very timely phrase but I also don’t want to make it modern day I want to keep it alternate 1985 but I just think the themes will resonate so much better now as I keep thinking about the graphic novel and even the Snyder film a lot.

Wasn't there already a Watchmen film called Who Watches the Watchmen?

WHO WATCHES THE WATCHMEN was more of a sequel to the original comic, which would make this project a de facto prequel (from what I've been told).

On never seeing Kristina again I’m making insane progress I’m over 1,000 words and I’ve been working on it for 3 days. The characters are so fun to write.

It’s very much the most similar thing I’ve done to The Vegan Movie but a bit more dramatic and serious but still absurd.

So this idea has been on the tip of my mind for a while, just had to figure out how to tell it. "The Friend Zone" a fantasy/comedy that takes place in a literal void known as The Friend Zone. Its a town that prides itself on keeping its citizens tied to their "person" back home. Instead of encouraging them to move on and embrace other relationships, they're told that "nah, you're just not trying hard enough." any attempt for citizens to 'move on' are met with hostility. If too many people step out of the Friend Zone, it will shake the very fabric of their universe. The town is run by the mayor of The Friend Zone with his enforcers of rules who are ironically called "match makers" who keep citizens in check. Match makers are like anti-cupids who will cattle-prod you if you are so much as caught holding hands with someone.
A new recruit to the match-makers is a guy whose new to the friend zone. He begins to see how things are run in the town and is shocked by what he sees. He'll set out to end the reign of the town's mayor.
